FAQ - Bridal Makeup

Should I wear make-up to my bridal trial?

I request clients to arrive with washed, moisturized, and makeup-free faces. Feel free to bring a photo of yourself in your usual makeup, though!

Do I need to bring photos of makeup looks?

While it's certainly not mandatory to bring inspiration photos, it really can be helpful for both of us. Any photos brought will be looked at together and we can touch on what you like (or maybe don't like) in each one. It helps to give me a foundation understanding of the makeup style you'd like to have for your big day!

What if I am tanned for my wedding day and not the trial?

If you get a tan after your trial run, don't worry! I will color match on your wedding day to ensure there is a seamless blend with your new tan.

How long does the bridal trial take?

The trial consists of an in-depth consult prior to the application. After the application we will discuss any tweaks or changes you might like to see. Please allow 1.5-2 hours for the preview.

What if i change my mind about my desired look after the trial?

I'm happy to schedule a second trial for you! There will be a charge for the second trial.

FAQ - Permanent makeup

How long does permanent makeup last?

The duration of permanent makeup can vary. While it's often referred to as "semi-permanent," it is designed to gradually fade over time. After your initial session, you should plan for a 6-8 week touch-up to refine the look. After the touch up (dependent on skin type, lifestyle, and many other factors) expect to need a refresh give or take once a year, or up to three years for lash enhancement liner/lip blushing.

Is it tattooing?

Permanent makeup is a type of tattooing, but it has some important differences from traditional tattoos. The pigment used is designed to fade over time, which is why it’s often referred to as "semi-permanent." Because of this fading process, touch-ups are typically required every few years. Unlike traditional tattoos, cosmetic tattoos are applied to a more superficial layer of the skin, allowing the pigment to gradually be pushed out. Microblading, on the other hand, is not exactly tattooing; it involves creating tiny cuts in the skin, where the pigment is deposited and absorbed.

What are some contraindications for having permanent makeup done?

Permanent makeup is not recommended for individuals who are pregnant or breastfeeding due to the potential risk of chemicals entering the bloodstream.

Additionally, people with conditions such as epilepsy, pacemakers, heart problems, lupus, organ transplants, eczema, dermatitis, rosacea, psoriasis, allergies to metals or pigments, keloids, or those on Accutane should avoid permanent makeup.

If you have conditions like diabetes, thyroid issues, glaucoma, or are undergoing chemotherapy treatment, it is important to get approval from your doctor before proceeding.

Those with allergies to lidocaine or epinephrine, very oily skin, a tendency for cold sores, a susceptibility to hyperpigmentation, or significant sun-damaged skin may also find permanent makeup unsuitable.

FAQ - Lash Extensions, lifts, and TINTS

What are lash extensions?

Lash extensions are individual synthetic lashes applied to your natural lashes to enhance length, volume, and thickness. They are lightweight and designed to mimic the look of natural lashes.

How long does the application process take?

The application typically takes 2 to 2.5 hours for a full set, depending on the style and fullness you choose.

How should I care for my lash extensions?

  • Avoid getting them wet for the first 24-48 hours.
  • Gently clean your lashes with an oil-free cleanser.
  • Avoid rubbing your eyes or pulling on the extensions.
  • Refrain from using oil-based makeup removers or skincare products.

Are lash extensions safe?

Yes, when applied correctly by a trained professional, lash extensions are safe and do not damage your natural lashes.

How do I remove lash extensions?

It’s best to have your lash extensions professionally removed to avoid damage to your natural lashes. If you need to remove them yourself, use a lash extension-safe remover or contact your lash artist for advice.

Do lash extensions require maintenance?

Yes, to keep your lash extensions looking full, you’ll need regular touch-ups, typically every 2-3 weeks, depending on how fast your natural lashes shed and grow.

What is a lash lift + tint?

  •  A lash lift is a semi-permanent treatment that curls and lifts your natural lashes from the root, giving them a more voluminous and open-eyed look without the need for mascara or eyelash curlers.
  •  A lash tint is a dye applied to your natural lashes, darkening them to give the appearance of thicker, fuller lashes. It’s perfect for enhancing your lashes without needing mascara.

How long does a lash lift + tint last?

A lash lift typically lasts 6-8 weeks, depending on your natural lash growth cycle. The tint usually lasts 3-4 weeks, as your lashes naturally shed and grow.

Are lash lifts + tints suitable for sensitive eyes?

Yes, but it’s important to inform your technician if you have sensitive eyes, allergies, or any eye conditions. A patch test may be done prior to treatment to ensure there’s no adverse reaction.
